You must validate the DN String from your certificate to ensure it is compatible with MISO systems. After purchasing your certificate from SSL, OATI or GlobalSign, follow the vendor’s instructions to download and install it on your computer.  

Once the certificate is installed, export the certificate and then validate the DN String to confirm it meets MISO’s compatibility requirements.

How to Export your Certificate

1. Search for and select Internet Options.
2. Select the Content tab, then select Certificates.


3. Select the Certificate to Export.
4. Click Export.
5. The Certificate Export Wizard will open, click Next.


6. Select No, do not export the private key.
7. Click Next.


8. Select DER encoded binary x.509 (CER) radio button.
9. Click Next.


10. Browse to select path and file name to store certificate
11. Click Next.


12. Click Finish.


DN String Validation

You are now ready to upload your certificate into the DN String tool.

1. Navigate to: DN String Tool Certificate DN Tool
2. Select Choose File. (Select the file you just exported)
3. Click Upload.
