The Planning Reserve Margin Requirement (PRMR) is the amount of demand, expressed in Megawatts (MW) that each MISO Load Serving Entity (LSE) must satisfy in order to serve end use customer demand with sufficient reserve margin. PRMR is also equivalent to the number of Zonal Resource Credits (ZRCs) that each LSE must procure in order to satisfy its Resource Adequacy Requirements (RAR).
Within the MISO Resource Adequacy construct, there are two (2) types of PRMR: Initial PRMR and Final PRMR.
